Wine & Stories – Dinner with Greenstone Estate

Shiraz and Sangiovese; a product 550 million years in the making… so begins a story from these soils that this winery derives its name. The success of Greenstone’s Heathcote wines led the team to explore opportunities to expand the wine range. Upholding the requirement to find the best locations for each varietal, the search brought them to the Yarra Valley. The site, acquired in 2015 has a long history of producing outstanding wines perfectly suited to, and reflecting, the local climate and soils – a critical part of the Greenstone winemaking philosophy.
It is on this occasion the usual fine dining experience is brought to you in a casual and relaxed delivery of service. Wines for the night will be talked to directly by Han, the vineyard’s winemaker. Dinner consists of three courses including table shared entree, individual set main and dessert platters. Wines presented for discussion include Sparkling Blanc de Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and the only regional intruder of the series, the Heathcote Sangiovese. The evening is finished on a high with a truly stunning sticky Viognier.
