Yarra Valley is home to Victoria’s finest wineries, making it the perfect destination for travellers looking to indulge their taste buds. Chateau Yering Hotel boasts a wealth of luxury accommodation, conveniently nestled just next door to the highly praised winery Yering Station. Out of the many Yarra Valley wineries, we are one of the most impressive, accompanied with its rich history.
At the site of Chateau Yering Hotel, in 1838 the region’s very first vineyard was planted. When it comes to Yarra Valley winery accommodation, there isn’t much better than this. You’ll be settled right in the heart of it all, giving you the chance to soak up the atmosphere and dip in and out of taste sensations. The hotel’s wine cellar, standing since 1840, is still being used, allowing every guest a small connection to the past.
The original winemaking philosophy was all about this delicate balance between tradition and innovation. When making wine, the old ways were respected to produce classic, high-quality beverages. However, each blend was graced with a unique touch of style, meaning every glass stood out from wines produced in other regions.
Our winery hotel proudly stood as one of the most extensive in the region for years after it was founded. Tourism increased and the wines began to receive global recognition. We’ve been in receipt of the Argus Gold Cup in 1861 and were graced with one of only fourteen international Grand Prix awards, courtesy of the Universal Exhibition in Paris (1889). As a result, accommodation in Chateau Yering Hotel has become much sought after as visitors from all around the world flock to experience the marvel for themselves.
We still remain a beautiful place to explore, as new owners have remained committed to upholding the location’s historic and natural beauty. An avenue created by elm trees has stood since the winery’s beginnings, with the magic still happening within the walls of the heritage-listed barn. It now houses the opening to the Yering Station cellar door, keeping history alive in the present day.
Picturesque views are available from all of the Chateau Yering Hotel’s Yarra Valley winery accommodation. The Stable Suite offers a patio experience of the private gardens, or you might prefer to opt for a private balcony. The Yarra Suite’s vantage point offers a sweeping look over the valley, whereas the Melba suite boasts views of mountains in the distance.
Accommodation is only minutes away from more than 90 wineries and vineyards, but that’s not all there is to do. Relax while having a spa beauty treatment or put your feet up in a guest lounge for a while. Although decorated with a traditional touch and antique furnishings, rooms are complete with modern comforts, such as TV, DVD player and minibar. Outdoors, you can take a stroll in the gardens, have a dip in the swimming pool, or play a couple of games of tennis.
This wealth of natural beauty is a mere one-hour drive from the Melbourne CBD or airport, but helicopter transfers (from Essendon Airport) can also be provided for your convenience.
