Eleonore's Restaurant

In a word Eleonore’s Restaurant is elegant. Named after Eleonore de Castella, wife of the original Swiss developer of Chateau Yering, this award-winning restaurant honors a Melbourne icon and Victoria’s most popular and sophisticated hostesses in the mid 19th century. The ‘high society’ of Melbourne journeyed to the Yarra Valley for weekends of fine dining and wining. ‘She entertained her guests in a grand manner.’

Today you can certainly imagine the joy and pleasures of her time. Keeping with expectations of visitors to the dining room today whilst respecting the heritage of the past, a passive Italian and Australian influenced menu provides a culinary journey to savour whilst you take in the same views across distant purple hills as those did almost 100 years ago.

A commitment remains to sourcing the fresh and local produce for preparing your meals you’re your choice for wine is heavily influenced by local winemakers of the Yarra Valley.

The original bluestone wine cellar, built in the 19th century, is home to some of the finest Yarra Valley vintages, Australian premium wines and of course a hand-picked selection of the world’s best. Let us help you decide or re-introduce yourself to your favourite wine.
